Ginga
Ginga is a Black singer endowed with a stunning voice possessing the distinctive qualities of “Black voices.” Her repertoire spans blues, soul, jazz, R&B, and gospel.
Among other engagements, Ginga currently serves as a backing vocalist for the renowned American vocal coach and gospel singer Cheryl Porter, the queen of gospel in Italy. In 2014, she participated as a backing vocalist on Mario Biondi’s album A Very Special Mario Christmas. She performed as a soloist in her project Ginga in Jazz at the opening of the 73rd Venice Film Festival in 2016, held at the prestigious Hotel Danieli in Venice. In September 2016, she joined Zucchero as a backing vocalist with the Hallelujah Gospel Singers & Cheryl Porter for the Rai 1 TV broadcast Partigiano Reggiano, as well as Zucchero’s concerts on September 25, 2016, at the Arena di Verona, and in Venice’s Piazza San Marco on July 3 and 4, 2018.
In 2017, Ginga released her debut EP Spring Time, produced and arranged by Maestro Felice Del Gaudio (who has worked with Dalla, Antonacci, Mingardi, and Emy Stewart) for Irma Records. In November 2018, she contributed backing vocals to several tracks on Eros Ramazzotti’s latest album Vita ce n’è. Recently, she performed as a backing vocalist with the Hallelujah Gospel Singers on Sky’s E poi c’è Cattelan, accompanying Marco Mengoni.
During the 2019 summer tour, she had the honor of being accompanied by the great American musician Stan Sargeant, Al Jarreau’s historic bassist, as well as other international artists such as Keb’ Mo’, Jody Watley, Bobby Caldwell, Keiko Matsui, Dave Koz, Leonard Cohen, Mindi Abair, Bobby Lyle, Lou Bega, Jonathan Butler, and Barry Manilow. Ginga has taken her shows beyond national borders, performing in Greece, Switzerland, and Ukraine for the Jazz Jubilee as the sole representative from the old continent. Rudy Fantin
Graduated in classical piano under Ugo Cividino in Udine and in jazz piano with Harald Neuwirth at the Klagenfurt Conservatory with honors and special mention. He studied with Renato Chicco and Bruno Cesselli. He teaches piano and arranging while maintaining an active career as a concert pianist, performing at festivals and theaters across Europe and beyond. He has contributed to over 60 CDs and served as Artistic Director of the FVG Gospel Choir from its founding in March 2003 until its closure on March 3, 2018.
He is Musical Director for Chicago singer Cheryl Porter and The NuVoices Project. He has collaborated with world-class artists including Stevie Wonder, Cheryl Porter, Noa, Ian Paice, Swingle Singers, Donald Lawrence, Calvin Bridges, Joe Pace, Myron Butler, Stef Burns, Michael Stuckey, Clinton Jordan, Daniel Thomas, Noreeda Graves, Wayne Ellington, Michelle John, Karima, and many others.
Alessandro Turchet
He began studying electric bass under Maestro Piero Cescut, then pursued double bass studies with Maestro Romano Todesco. He deepened his classical training with Maestros Mauro Muraro and Fabio Serafini. He earned his double bass diploma (old system) at the “J. Tomadini” Conservatory of Udine under Maestro Franco Feruglio. He obtained a Second-Level Academic Diploma in “Music Education – Instrumental Pedagogy” at the “Agostino Steffani” Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto (TV), with Maestro Paola Fasola as thesis advisor. He further studied jazz language with Maestro Marc Abrams. He has worked as a professional musician and music teacher since 2000.
He teaches electric bass and double bass at the “Scuola di Musica Città di Codroipo” in Codroipo (UD). He appears on more than 100 recordings, including standout releases such as: Mare Aperto by Naviganti e Sognatori (Abeat Records 2024); Lento Andare by Quintetto Ghirardini (Artesuono 2024); Mingus Fingers by Daniele D’Agaro and Alessandro Turchet (Artesuono 2022); Numen by Angelo Comisso, Alessandro Turchet, and Luca Colussi (Artesuono 2021); and many others listed in the original text.
