What is a choral trekking?

From an idea of Matteo Valbusa, an experience was born that combines the passion for choral singing with that for nature: choral trekking. To sing together in the open air, meet new people, visit exciting places, find serenity and psycho-physical well-being.

What exactly is involved in choral trekking?

  • a medium-level walk with a packed lunch to discover breathtaking views;
  • along the way, you stop every so often to rehearse 4-5 songs, provided in advance, thus forming a real choir;
  • finally you sing in public, creating a fantastic final flash-mob!

The choral trek is open to singers of all ages, conductors and musicians, as well as enthusiasts who want to experience choral singing. Children and accompanying persons may also participate in the trek.
Scores will be provided in advance with mp3 studio tracks to arrive prepared. Singing will be exclusively a cappella, SATB ensemble.

The Itinerary: From the P6 car park at Malga Saisera, along CAI path no. 611 we will reach the Fratelli Grego Refuge, and then continue to Sella Sompdogna, visiting the small lakes and the malga. We will return to Val Saisera via the new road that descends from the hut.

Routes and music programmes may be subject to change. In the event of adverse weather forecasts, the excursion will be cancelled on the previous day.

Compulsory equipment: printed and bound sheet music (provided by Feniarco), pencil and eraser, hiking shoes (carved sole), rucksack, suitable clothing, packed lunch, water bottle, hat or bandana, sun cream, k-way or other clothing in case of light rain.
