The orchestral ensemble “AUDiMuS” was founded in 2012 from the idea of bringing together young musicians who wished to join forces and collaborate in giving voice to the classical orchestra. The cultural and musical association “AUDiMuS” has around eighty members and has now established itself as one of the most vibrant young musical institutions in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Since 2012, more than two hundred young musicians have played in the ranks of AUDiMuS. The group is led by Maestro Francesco Gioia. There have been important collaborations with conductors such as Maestro J. Smeets (Netherlands), Maestro G. Estrada (Venezuela), and Maestro A. Calcagnile (Milan), and with soloists including David Cooper (principal horn, Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra), Marco Braito (principal trumpet, RAI Orchestra), Friedrich Edelmann (former principal bassoon, Münchner Philharmoniker), Stefano Flaibani (principal trumpet, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra), Paolo Armato (principal horn, Arena di Verona Orchestra), Rocco Rescigno (principal trombone, Duisburger Philharmoniker), as well as Rebecca Rust, Carlo Teodoro, and Sebastian Di Bin.
In 2024, the Italian pianist and pedagogue Luca Rasca became “pianist in residence” of AUDiMuS. The goal is to create as many cultural opportunities as possible in the region, with free admission (all AUDiMuS concerts are free), drawing audiences closer through the profound passion and high quality that are brought to every event.
