In his new trio, pianist Angelo Comisso has found in Luca Colussi (drums) and Alessandro Turchet (double bass) two sensitive partners who follow him unconditionally in his virtuosity, in the flow of infinite and passionate harmony in the guise of complete improvisation. “Numen” presents melodic lines that submit to a natural law of beauty. Comisso’s classical training lays the foundations for a jazz firmly anchored in the European dimension of sound image and phrasing, but at the same time opens the door to broad and expansive sound worlds that change and evolve in a dazzling way. The Trio brings Mediterranean lightness to melodic temptations, ethnic references, lyrical suggestions and visionary atmospheres, always in absolute tonal balance. Informal, pure, humble – simply following a divine command.
